Many people are guilty of overdoing things to their hair. The 3 most common ways of overdoing it are –

1. Obsession with dry hair.

I don’t know why it’s grilled into the Indian psyche that dry hair should be dealt with great vigor, as if it is the cause of all hair problems? So people will go out of the way to do something about it, things like conditioning, deep conditioning, serum treatment, hair oil massages, hair smoothing, hair softening and what not. Stop and think for a while. So what if the hair is dry. Perhaps that’s the nature of your hair and therefore no matter what you do, it will remain dry. Trying to force it into being “not dry” may infact lead to hair fall.

2. Make curly hair straight or straight hair curly.

If you have naturally straight hair, it’s obviously not good enough. It needs to be curly and thus you need to perm it. And if it’s naturally curly, then it needs to be made straighter. Reminds me of the proverb which says that the grass is always greener on the other side. And you always have the saloon people to reinforce this. Of course once you straighten it or perm it, you need to use that special shampoo to maintain it, which is available only with your saloon guy.

3. Hair needs to have a lustrous shine.

Actually bald heads shine even more! Hope now you get the message.
