No Fall, Yet Bald

No Fall, Yet Bald

Sometimes even without having hair fall a person goes bald. Via hair thinning. Trichologist Dr Shahid Shamsher tell us how.

What is hair thinning?

In medical terms it is known as Miniaturization wherein the strands of hair become progressively thinner and thinner, to a stage where the scalp becomes very visible. Very often the patient remarks that I have never ever seen my hair fall and yet when you see the scalp there is considerable hair loss and baldness.

How is this seen?

The most common way is the thinning on the top of the head. The other types seen are thinning on the sides or even back of the head. Because this develops slowly, often the patient realizes this after quite some thinning has occurred and when people start pointing it out.
