There is no fixed frequency to wash your hair. It varies from person to person, and the main deciding factor is the scalp type. If you find your scalp is of the dry type, then you can wash your hair 2-3 times per week. If however your scalp is oily then washing alternate days or even daily is the norm. The reason why oily scalps need more washing is, because such scalp’s secrete oil like substance called sebum which accumulates around the hair roots. When this sebum is not washed off, the accumulation becomes high enough to weaken the roots and cause more hair fall. Also the sebum attracts dirt and fungal infections very easily, which cause further damage to the hair roots. In such cases washing daily would be very much required and in fact also safe for the hair.
