Garlic For Acne

Garlic For Acne

Garlic is a part of the Allium family. Most people use it as a condiment to spice up their food. However garlic has medicinal properties as well. It is rich in sulphur and is considered to be one of the first natural antibiotics. Because of its anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties, it acts as a natural medicine for acne. You can add finely chopped garlic in your regular food or have it in its raw form. If you have a problem with its foul smell, soak it in milk for about an hour before consumption. I would however not recommend external application of garlic on the skin as it has known to cause burning of the skin in a few cases. There are several other natural sources that have the same effects as garlic, like ginger and turmeric. It is important however to exhibit caution even with natural home remedies as they may not suit every skin type.
